Ross Gardam is seeking a full-time Mid-Level Designer + Production Manager to join our friendly design studio. The open-plan studio is located in Brunswick, where you will work amongst a passionate team of designers, engineers and makers. We are seeking someone with a great attention to detail and a strong appreciation for design.

Working with the team you will be responsible for assisting the Senior Designers with documentation and other tasks as well as overseeing lighting production.

Roll description:

·       Collaborate with design team to deliver projects to the highest level

·       Create and maintain detailed 3D models, technical drawings and other tasks

·       Assist Senior Designers with design tasks, including client presentations

·       Work on the design and development of new lighting and furniture collections

·       Working closely with the team to gain an in-depth knowledge of our product range

·       Overseeing the manufacture and assembly of specific lighting collections

·       Purchasing and maintaining stock of components and parts

·       Building relationships with different manufacturers and suppliers

·       Ensuring production schedules and lead-times are optimised

·       Maintain stock/inventory records and stocktake data

·       Full time role, working in our Brunswick Studio

Essential criteria and knowledge:

·       At least 3 years previous experience in a similar role

·       Bachelors degree in Industrial Design or similar

·       High level of attention to detail and accuracy

·       Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control and inventory management

·       Previous experience with Xero or DEAR Inventory will be highly regarded

·       Experience working in the design or creative industry

·       Proficient in CAD software (Rhino will be highly regarded)

·       Experienced with using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign

·       Able to communicate effectively

·       Be friendly, helpful, and service oriented

·       Able to work effectively under minimal supervision in an open plan team environment
