The Brickworks Centre in Burwood, Victoria is a multipurpose building incorporating office spaces, function rooms and a display suite. The space utilises robust materials such as natural oak and a monolithic stone slab to create a durable but warm feel. The stark grey geometric paving underfoot, is inspired by Italian architect Carlo Scarpa and creates a dramatic backdrop to the stunning natural oak cabinetry and stone sales counter. Modern furniture works alongside robust pieces, like the massive stone slab that works as the sales counter. A curated selection of art and contemporary design objects are placed throughout enhancing the sleek interior space.
The space is set up as a display unit for the future residential development, while also housing the needs of the sales and marketing people who are tasked with selling the future homes. The use of wood adds a feeling of coziness and warmth to welcome visitors. The new space needed to be outfitted with durable materials to withstand the traffic they’re expecting throughout the duration of the project. At the same time, they wanted it to feel warm and homey, our White Polar Desk Lamp balance out the heavy use of natural finishing, with accomplished expertise.
